LinkedIn is today’s phonebook—except now, you can DM anyone. CEOs. Founders. Hiring managers. People who were just like you a few years ago.
But before you slide into someone’s inbox with a “Can you refer me?”, consider this:
Start with a real conversation. Ask for advice. Insights. Perspective.
And better yet—offer something in return. Reverse mentorship? A Gen Z POV? A great podcast or book? A coffee if you’re in the same city?
Small value goes a long way.
Because real connections aren’t built on copy-paste messages – they’re built on human curiosity and exchange.
Or as they say at Hogwarts: “Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it.”
